🇺🇸(1893-2001) THE STORY OF GEORGE AND WILLIE MUSE KIDNAPPED AND FORCED INTO THE CIRCUS

Welcome to Thoughts Camera Action #ProvokingThought
Two African-American albino brothers, George and Willie Muse, were the grandsons of former slaves and sons of tobacco sharecroppers born in Roanoke, Virginia, in the 1890’s. Harriett, their mother, brought them up in poverty.

The two brothers were kidnapped as boys in Truevine, Virginia, in 1899 by bounty hunters and forced into the circus. Upon their capture, they were falsely told that their mother was dead and that they would never return home.

The Muse family came from the tiny rural town of Truevine, Va., where, even after emancipation, the black population still faced the virtual enslavement of the sharecropping system and the vitriolic racism of the Jim Crow south. A thriving chapter of the Ku Klux Klan had formed in nearby Roanoke, boasting a membership that included many of the area’s leading citizens, and lynchings were all too common. It was against this backdrop that Harriett Muse confronted powerful white authorities to demand her sons be returned.

  1. What makes this story more horrifying to me is knowing that their elite AngloSaxon family members would have been the ones to give approval for the kidnapping. I would not be surprised if the brothers' Anglo family side was given regular payments over the years by the circus.
Long after the War, the old Slave Master families had complete control over their black relatives in the old Confederate States. This unwritten legal reality was still in force in certain Klan areas even in the 1960's.
Even impoverished great-grandchildren of SlaveMasters, even if they had sunk to a working class level, maintained legal and social control over their wealthier black relatives. The police asked, and were given verbal permission, by them to do what they did to "the Master's Golden Wheat" ( a term for the descendants of the Master's first born, black children.)

  2. Really sweet of their mother. That's so awesome and strong of her to fight for her children. Amazing during Jim Crow laws so brave. Strong Black Woman. They hair was so cool.

  3. Sha’ul 🗣
“For I could wish that I myself were cursed and cut off from Yahshua for the sake of my people, those of my own race, the people of Isra’el. Theirs is the adoption to sonship; theirs the divine glory, the covenants, the receiving of the law, the temple worship and the promises. Theirs are the patriarchs, and from them is traced the human ancestry of the Mashiach, who is Yah (God) over all, forever praised!”

  4. ALL PRAISE TO YAHUAH ABD YAHUSHA!! OUR PEOPLE WENT THROUGH HELL BUT WE NEED TO REMEMBER WE COME FROM STRONG PEOPLE!! O YAH I THANK YOU I JUST THANK YOU BECAUSE ONE DAY YOU ARE COMING TO GET US!! HOLD ON MY PEOPLE REPENT FOLLOW THE COMMANDMENTS AND KEEP THE SABBATH!!! THANK YOU MY BROTHER FOR THIS KNOWLEDGE!! KEEP LOOKING UP!!

  5. It hurts my core to see what these people have done to us enter think there's going to be no judgement for them he got another thing coming all praises to the most high yah

  6. So I’ve been correct all along about finding someone saying be my muse as an insult. There’s an actor alive now who looks like the brothers down to the face & hair. Like the guy alive now everyone interviews about having hair all over his body, they had people like him as forced circus acts too. I wonder if they are related or just have the same condition. Circus began as extension to slavery obviously, all that was simply grotesque.
