I think the French disapprove of the way Macron is sucking up to the US in the Russia-Ukraine conflict. French tend to find the roots of a problem before judging and they want their leaders to take care of the people interest first. They know about the hardship that is coming to them because of those sanctions on Russia, added to their prior internal conflict. Nowadays information is available to everyone. Germany started quite late and is still catching up to being multi-cultural, hence effect is not felt at the moment as dramatic as France. If you stayed in Germany, what is political and public is quite different to what is on the dinner table, so It wouldn't be surprising if this issue becomes even more a powder keg in Germany as compared to France which is struggling publicly.
