  1. I think in India this is not applicable, you can give the surname either mothers or father.

My surname is given from my mother. My cousin has a different surname then their parents.

  2. I feel this channel is sexist and running out of source. Dont have any good topic to discuss. She discuss everything related to girls and women ego issues. Pathetic journalism. Man the world has good topic to discuss.

  3. Why does this announcer raise her voice when speaking – her delivery is super annoying – modern microphones will pick up all natural notes, but her shrill voice and monotone delivery is unbearable to listen to. Not to speak of her rhythmic banging of her pen or whatever she has in her hands… WION. Grow up!

  4. Please we have to go to the basics
Men have always been the drivers of lineage of a particular clan the reason why in our ancestry by average half of men have two child and half none and females have average 1 child.
So who defines ancestry how do i know that i have my ancestry of dogra because my great grandmother chose to stay with the dogra by marriage with dogra

  5. It's another time to set a goal for the year, one need to set goals and take bold steps in achieving them. Remember success is not obtained overnight, you have to stop procrastinating and try what you have always wanted to improve in you're life and well being. Investment will take you closer to your dreams.

  6. to be very honest i HATE MY SURNAME AND I HATE MY DAM FATHER TOO AND JUST TO PISS HIM OFF I WILL LET MY CHILDREN TAKE MY WIFES SURNAME….

  7. We need to simplify names, so far it was settled under Father's surname for entire family, it's an old age patriarchy question, the option shall be kept open for mother's name as well, patriarchy served fine in this regard in most communities, if both the parents need their name, it should be shortened with the initials, Father's give seed for the birth of the child mother's give features and give birth, both are equally important, let's not put down fathers who work hard their whole life to provide and ensure security for their family and children, women are doing it too in today's age, it's a personal choice and shall be left open.

  8. Marriage rates in the Western world are at the lowest rate since they started recording this in the early eighteen hundreds. Roughly 6.5 per THOUSAND!!! Keep that in mind before you propose any more changes to the institution of Marriage. So before we go full retard into the naming department, let's start testing for paternity at birth before any signatures are put on any birth certificates. Prove me wrong!

  9. No surname doesn't reveal caste now, my freind have also have a surname of sharma but he's belongs to Sc category and I'm in general category.

  10. In the Philippines, we do that, except the mother's surname is the middle name. For example, Peter, who was born of father James A. Fitzgerald and Mary C. Holmes (whose name, by virtue of marriage, would be Mary H. Fitzgerald, the H. standing for Holmes) has the full name of Peter H. Fitzgerald, with the H. standing for Holmes. Simple.

  11. A child should always take a father's surname. It is injustice for the father if the child get's mother's surname.

  12. In Hindu religion, once a woman is married off, she changes her "Gotra" to that of her husband's and that is why I think she and her children take her husband's surname. But yes, in modern times, taking up one's mother's surname, especially if she's a single parent, must be allowed legally.

  13. Don’t worry Palki, after you have my children, it would be an honor for them to have your surname .

  14. My surname is neither from my parent.
It feels really cool and free. It doesn't give me extra burden on my shoulder, for example, maintaining the family heritage or some traditions.
Rather it allows me to create my own identity.

  15. Italians are more worried about surname where their employment rate and standard of living is going downhill. 🏂Instead Italians focus on your economy

  16. Great idea to have both surnames. First the mother's followed by the father's. In case of parents' divorce? Living-in relationships? One's name changes then. More than once, perhaps😆. Complicated World 🤣.

  17. Don't know why but I think now we are going towards stupidity, Nothing is making any sense. Suddenly everyone have problem with everything.

  18. Interesting to see that the New Delhi High court Sign post at @3.30 is blocking the Pedestrian (footpath) access. Would the same Delhi high court do something about it?

  19. Amongst all the other problems this might bring : is the one of inbreeding. Boy meets girl; fall in love have baby heading for marriage. Only to find out that they are brother and sister. Be careful what you wish/ask for?
You might not like the outcome.

  20. Italian men are beta, Zoe Saldana husband is italian, he took Zoe saldana's last name.
He he is not a real man. And given the fact that he's italian. I'm seeing the similarities between Italian culture and Zoe Santana's Italian husband.

  21. Men are head to the clans, they are leaders of the tribes, heads of the household,
    heads of the families,
    in white eurocentric civilizations..
they are beginning to take away the leadership of the men.
And that is going to.. literally destroy civilization.

  22. I do not want my child to carry the surname of the woman's father.
When a woman gets married, she marries inside of the Man's family.
    She take his last name.
That is the way it should be.

  23. Im from India as well, at-least in our part of the country people traditionally gets family name of mother as surname… in some cases fathers or both… many go for community(jaath) name… for sometime putting fathers first name as surname is popular…

  24. THERE IS A REASON WHY FATHER’S SURNAME IS USED. EVERYONE KNOWS WHO IS THE BABY’S MOTHER. KNOWING THE DAD IS TRICKY. IF YOU REMOVE DAD’S SURNAME, YOU WILL BE DISRUPTING THE SYSTEM. THERE WILL BE A POSSIBILITY OF SIBLING MARRIAGES DUE TO LACK OF INFORMATION
Why don’t these educated judges have basic common sense ?!

  25. In Bharat, we have Gotra/Varna; no caste system[casta a spanish/potugese word, incorrectly translated for Varna]. Gotra describes lineage. Which helps marriage decision so as to avoid marriage in same Gotra, that might cause genetic defects in child.
