The Library of Congress has a wonderful map collection which I used to get high res versions of a lot of these old maps. Thank you Library of Congress!

What happened after this has been over 500 of mass extinction of the indigenous peoples. The single most brutal, horrifically, biggest modern genocide the world has seen.
Yes yes yes yes yes……………

Why did Europe wait 400 years longer to colonize Africa?
Europe just traded with Africans on the coast and never ventured into Africa until the 1800s with Stanley and Livingstone being the first in the 1850s.
Why do you try to put blame on Christian kingdoms for taking over these lands? It is not like they invented conquering… This is the way our world works from the beginning of human civilization. The strong one conquers the weak one and uses his resources and land for his own benefit. By the way, it keeps on going today with one particular world power, which does not like to share the world with others π
Read Jared Diamond's – Guns Germs & Steel for an in-depth and even more gut wrenching explanation of western imperialism.

the story is never black and white
they had some things europe had others, that's it
It's a cool story if you say europeans were miserable compared to the ones they colonized but it's not the case
The world map ? Another ethnocentric comment ! The europeans map !
