What Do Jesus' Remarks In Revelation Imply About Paul?

Paul claimed to be an apostle in his letter to the Ephesians (Ephesians 1:1). Ephesus was the largest city of Proconsular Asia — modern Western Turkey.

However, later on, in Paul's second letter to Timothy, Paul declared that "all those in Asia have turned away from me" (2 Timothy 1:15). In Acts 19, Luke tells us the Ephesian synagogue where Paul taught for three months and where there were substantial converts to Christ finally expelled Paul.

So this means that at some point after Paul wrote his epistle to them, the Ephesians for some reason ceased to regard Paul as a genuine apostle. Note that he does not say that the believers in Asia abandoned the Christian faith. Paul does not say that they abandoned the original Apostles of Jesus. Paul says only that the believers in Asia abandoned himself. For some reason, the Ephesians ceased to regard Paul as a genuine Christian leader.

Renan in his famous book St. Paul in the 1870s mentioned that chapters two and three in Revelation imply that Paul was rejected in Asia Minor by the time John wrote Revelation. The book of Revelation places Paul's doctrine out of sight and implicitly rejects it. See our page on Renan's analysis.

One clear cut example is what Jesus says about idol meat to the church of Ephesus in Asia. In Rev. 2:14, Jesus clearly commends this church of Ephesus for rejecting the one who taught it was acceptable to eat meat sacrificed to idols — something Paul three times approved eating. (For background, see our webpage on this issue.)

Thus, Renan's analysis that chapter 2 of Revelation implies the rejection of Paul in Asia completely comports with Paul saying that "all those in Asia have turned away from me" (2 Timothy 1:15).

Now turning specifically to the book of Revelation, we find it is written by the Apostle John. It starts off with the resurrected Jesus instructing John to send messages to seven churches within Asia (Revelation 1:11). The first Asian church to be given a message is the church at Ephesus.

If Paul had been a genuine apostle, then surely the resurrected Jesus would have reprimanded the Asians for abandoning his genuine apostle if Paul were a genuine apostle of Jesus. However, turn to Revelation 2:2 and read how the resurrected Jesus commended the Ephesians instead:

"I know…that you have tested those who claim to be apostles but are not, and have found them false."

So in essence, this is how the dialogue proceeded:

Paul says to the Asians: "I am an Apostle." (Ephesians 1:1)
The Asians reply to Paul: "No you're not!" (2 Timothy 1:15)
Jesus says to the Asians: "You got that right!" (Revelation 2:2)

Jesus' Words to Thyatira Mock Paul's Words

Jesus condemns the prophetess, the false Jezebel, who teaches her followers to "eat meat sacrificed to idols" and to commit adultery (betray God, their husband?). Rev. 2:20. Jesus implies that this freedom from the Law proclaimed by the prophet is by appealing to a higher knowledge. Who made a similar appeal, and identically taught eating meat sacrificed to idols was ok? Paul.

Amazingly, Jesus in Rev. 2 mocks Paul's words in 1 Cor. 2:10 about such higher knowledge, and knowing the "depths of God."

Paul in 1 Cor. 2:10 had written that "God has revealed it to us by His Spirit" and "the Spirit searches all things, even the depths (Gk "Bathe") of God." (See Greek tab at Bible Hub for 1 Cor. 2:10.) Then, the IVP New Testament Commentaries at this link does not even withhold from us that Jesus' pointed critique of Paul is "possibly" involved because Jesus in verses 23-24 speaks that this doctrine to eat meat sacrificed to idols comes from the "depths ("Bathe") of Satan":

Possibly with Paul's statement in view [in 1 Cor. 2:10], the risen Jesus announces, not just to Thyatira but to all the churches (v. 23), that I am he who searches hearts and minds, and I will repay each of you according to your deeds [i.e., works], adding that the "deep things" of such groups as this are not the profound truths of God, but the deep secrets  [Bathe "depths"] of Satan himself (v. 24). [See Greek tab at Bible Hub for Rev. 2:24.]

Renan was the first to point this out, and placed it alongside numerous other subtle yet obvious critiques on Paul in Revelation, mirrored in the Epistle of Jude and elsewhere as follows:

“Paul from this moment was for a section of the Church one of the most dangerous of heretics, a false Jew, a false Apostle, a new Balaam, a Jezebel, a villain who prophesied the destruction of the temple, in two words, a Simon Magnus…They were accustomed to designate the Apostle of the Gentiles by the sobriquet of Nicholas (Conqueror of the People), a name akin to Balaam. His disciples for the same reason were called Nicolaitans…His gospel was a false Gospel…Paul was the ‘frivolous man’ of whom the Gentiles have received the doctrine which is opposed to the Law; his visions, which he calls ‘depths of God,’ they qualified as the ‘depth of Satan,’ his Churches they named the ‘Synagogues of Satan;’ in spite of Paul, they proclaim boldly that the Twelve on are the foundation of the Church of Christ.” (Renan, History of Christianity, Vol. III St. Paul [ca. 1871]at 73.)

Hence, Renan draws Jesus' words out as an obvious clip from Paul's language to turn these words against Paul. However, in the greater context, Renan attributes these words to hatred by John, the Apostle, toward Paul, rather than Jesus giving a message to his loyal flock.

Note: Please observe how the King James obscured you seeing the link between these two passages. In one, the King James has Paul made to say "deep things of God" when all it says is "bathe (depths) of God." Then when Jesus uses the identical word to condemn the false teacher who allows you to eat meat sacrificed to idols, as Paul clearly does, the King James has Jesus say this came from the "depths of Satan" — the "Bathe" of Satan — in Rev. 2:24. Why the disparity in translating the identical word as "deep things" when Paul says it but as "depths" when Jesus uses the same word? End of Note.

The IVP commentary then explains that this false prophet came into the congregation, but was not part of it. It appears this false prophet was "a separate community trying to entice away its members." (Id.) That too sounds alot like Paul — someone who approached them as a Christian, but had the doctrines that came from the depths of Satan, Jesus says.

Why did Jesus not name Paul? Wouldn't that help us better?

Why didn't Jesus tell us the names of the ones at Ephesus who were tried and found to be false claimants to being Christ's Apostles?

First, God allows false prophets specifically to "test" whether we love Him with our whole mind, soul and heart. The test is by comparing the false prophet to the words of a prior true prophet. (Deut. 13:1-5.) By comparing Paul for example to the words of Jesus. To give us the name of Paul point blank is just too easy, frankly.

If one still believes Jesus must have a duty to tell us the name of the false apostle found at Ephesus in Rev. 2:2 or we refuse to consider the possibility, think again. First of all, we know Jesus did not give us the names. So how can we gainsay our Lord's purpose in being mysterious?

Second, if we could impose such a duty on our Lord, then Jesus's warning of the ravening wolf/false prophets to come in His name fails to be worthy of Jesus because He did not tell us their name point blank. But Jesus knew their names just as much before they emerged as He would after.

So the reason Jesus did not tell us their names before-the-fact has to be the same reason He did not tell us their names after-the-fact.

The answer is simple and in Deut. 13:1-5. It is up to us to TEST those who claim to be prophets and apostles, just like the Bereans were doing with Paul early in his ministry. That is clearly implied in the fact Jesus complimented the Ephesians for testing one claiming to be an Apostle and finding him false. It is our trial of claimants to apostleship and prophetic office, as Jesus commended the Ephesians for doing, which is what God expects us to do and is WHY God will not tell us the name point blank. It would utterly defeat His purpose in allowing such false prophets/apostles in the first place.

  6. St. Paul, out of the closet: "Paul's sister's son" a Herodian

Son of Herod Antipas and his first wife Phasaelis, step-brother of Salome, daughter of Herodias

Acts 23:16 mentions "Paul's sister's son" and here Luke slips up and reveals that Paul Saul is not a Jew but St. Paul is a Herodian!

Paul was deceptive when he claims:
"Are they Hebrews? So am I. Are they Israelites? So am I. Are they offspring of Abraham? So am I."(2Corinthians 11:22)
"I am a Pharisee, the son of Pharisees." (Acts 23:6)
"Circumcised the eighth day, of the nation of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, a Hebrew of Hebrews; as to the Law, a Pharisee;"
(Philippians 3-5) "My manner of life from my youth, spent from the beginning among my own nation and at Jerusalem (Qumran), is known by all the Jews. They have known for a long time, if they are willing to testify, that according to the strictest party of our religion I have lived as a Pharisee." (Acts 26:4)
"I advanced in Judaism beyond many among my people of the same age, for I was far more zealous for the traditions of my ancestors". (Galatians 1:14)
"I indeed, am a man, a Jew, having been born in Tarsus of Cilicia, and brought up in this city at the feet of Gamaliel, having been trained up a child, according to the exactitude of a law of the fathers, being zealous of God, as all you are to-day." (Acts 22:3)
"Paul said to the centurion who was standing by, “Is it lawful for you to flog a man who is a Roman citizen and uncondemned?” When the centurion heard this, he went to the tribune and said to him, “What are you about to do? For this man is a Roman citizen." So the tribune came and said to him, “Tell me, are you a Roman citizen?” And he said, 'Yes.'" (Acts 22:25-27)

Inductive reasoning shows that the sister in "Paul's sister's son" Acts 23:16 would have to be his step-sister Salome, the daughter of Herodias, the wife of Herod Antipas.

This implies that Paul is a Herodian, the son of Herod Antipas and his first wife Phasaelis who was the daughter of King Aretas IV of the Nabataeans and his queen Chuldu. Herod's first marriage had been prearranged by Herod the Great to preserve peace with King Aretas IV. (Herod the Great's mother was a Nabataean.) When Herod Antipas divorced Phasaelis to marry Herodias, John the Baptist opposed him, which lead to his beheading, and it caused a war with the Nabataeans that Herod Antipas lost. It is for this reason that Paul's ancestry was concealed.

The son in "Paul's sister's son" Acts 23:16 would be Timothy (Herod, son of Aristobulus and Salome, the daughter of Herodias) who was made the crown prince of Agrippa II who was childless. His presence is likely because his brother is present: Paul is accused of taking Trophimus (Aristobulus, the brother of Timothy) into the Temple in Acts 21:28-29.

Paul's relationship is further supported by Romans 16:13:
Romans16:13 Greet Rufus (Thomas: Esau had red hair), eminent in the Lord, also his mother (Mariamne II) and mine (Herodias, step-mother).
Salome's natural father is Herod Thomas and thus would be Paul's step-uncle. (Herod Thomas is nicknamed Rufus because his father Herod the Great deprived him of his birthright when his mother Mariamme II, daughter of the High Priest Simon Boethus, was found to know of a plot to poison Herod the Great. (Herod Thomas was Rufus because he was like the red haired Esau who was deprived of his inheritance by Jacob.) "Chosen in the Lord" refers to the fact that he is Jesus' disciple Thomas.) Herod Thomas' mother Mariamme II would be Paul's step-grandmother, however it is more likely that Paul is saying that Herodias, being Herod Thomas' wife, has the role of mother to Salome and therefore also as step-mother to Paul.

Paul's relationship is also supported by the verses above in Romans 16:10b-11:
"Greet those who belong to the family of Aristobulus. Greet my kinsman (the) Herodian." Salome's husband is Aristobulus and is therefore Paul's step-brother-in-law and they are all Herodians as Aristobulus is the son of Herod of Chalcis, the natural brother of Herodias, both having the same father Aristobulus, who was murdered by his father Herod the Great. This murdered Aristobulus was married to Bernice daughter of Salome, the sister of Herod the Great. (Herod Antipas was step-brother to this murdered Aristobulus as he was the son Herod the Great and his Samaritan wife Malthace.)

Salome's three sons with Aristobulus were Herod, Agrippa, and Aristobulus; their Christian names were Timothy, Tychicus, and Trophimus. These would be Paul's nephews since he is the step-brother of Salome, since she is the step-daughter of Herod Antipas. These three nephews of Paul are shown together in Acts 20:4: "He (Paul) was accompanied by … Timothy also, and Tychicus and Trophimus from the province of Asia." Paul's association and love for Timothy is not surprising as Timothy would be his nephew.

Paul (Saul) heritage would be 1/8 Edomite (forcibly converted to Judaism by John Hyrcanus c. 125 BC) from his great grandfather Antipater + 1/8 Nabatean-Arab from his great grandmother Cypros + 1/4 Samaritan (resettled by Sargon II king of the Assyrians) from his grandmother Malthace, wife of Herod the Great) + 1/2 Nabatean-Arab from mother Phasaelis, Herod Antipas' wife. (Paul would have been circumcised to emphasize Jewish heritage and be able to claim that he was from the tribe of Benjamin from his Samaritan grandmother, but certainly not a pure Jew.)

So the truth is now out there and it explains many things such as the Jews adamantly opposing Paul and how he was escorted to Caesarea with a detachment of two hundred soldiers, seventy horsemen and two hundred spearmen (Acts 23:23) and why he was beheaded by Nero as opposed to Peter who was crucified. It also explains why Jesus' Church was absorbed by the Herodian Church with Paul's letters becoming paramount in its development.

  7. Paul tells you himself that he is a Herodian, the same family dedicated to killing Yeshua. Think that's a coincidence?

Yeshua gave us a list on what to look out for

    Matt 23:25

25 “Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You clean the outside of the cup and dish, but inside they are full of greed and self-indulgence.

    Matthew 5:20

For I tell you, unless your righteousness exceeds that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.

    Matthew 23:1-39

Then Jesus said to the crowds and to his disciples, “The scribes and the Pharisees sit on Moses' seat, so practice and observe whatever they tell you—but not what they do. For they preach, but do not practice. They tie up heavy burdens, hard to bear, and lay them on people's shoulders, but they themselves are not willing to move them with their finger. They do all their deeds to be seen by others. For they make their phylacteries broad and their fringes long, …

    Matthew 22:15-22

Then the Pharisees went and plotted together how they might trap Him in what He said. And they *sent their disciples to Him, along with the Herodians, saying, “Teacher, we know that You are truthful and teach the way of God in truth, and defer to no one; for You are not partial to any. Tell us then, what do You think? Is it lawful to give a poll-tax to Caesar, or not?”

    Matthew 23:15

Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you travel across sea and land to make a single proselyte, and when he becomes a proselyte, you make him twice as much a child of hell as yourselves.

    Acts 23:6

Now when Paul perceived that one part were Sadducees and the other Pharisees, he cried out in the council, “Brothers, I am a Pharisee, a son of Pharisees. It is with respect to the hope and the resurrection of the dead that I am on trial.”

    Philippians 3:5

    Circumcised on the eighth day, of the people of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, a Hebrew of Hebrews; as to the law, a Pharisee;

    Acts 22:3

“I am a Jew, born in Tarsus in Cilicia, but brought up in this city, educated at the feet of Gamaliel according to the strict manner of the law of our fathers, being zealous for God as all of you are this day.

All three of Paul's stories are different. Acts 9:7, 22:9, 26:14

You cannot find a single teaching, doctrine, or parable of Yeshua in any of Paul's letters. Why is this important, besides the obvious reason? The remembrance of Precious Ointment Story… Yeshua said that where ever his gospel would be told, that her story would be included. Matt 26:6-13, Mark 14:3-9,

Luke 7:36-50, John 12:1-8. Yet, this story is nowhere to be seen in any of Paul's gospel.

Romans 6:3-4 3Or don't you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? 4We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.

If Paul the Apostle was inspired by God to write [Romans], why does Paul teach beliefs contradicting Jesus the Messiah when describing who God is in His relationship to the resurrected?

In [Romans 14:9] Paul the Pharisee contradicts Jesus the Messiah regarding the resurrection, stating : "Christ died and returned to life so that he might be the Lord of both the dead and the living."

In [Mark 12:26-27] Jesus the Messiah helps correct the Sadducees misunderstanding of the resurrection in God, stating : " Now about the dead rising—have you not read in the Book of Moses, in the account of the burning bush, how God said to him, ‘I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob’? He is not the God of the dead, but of the living. You are badly mistaken!”

How is Acts 27:23 really meant? Did Yeshua not say Satan was the God of this world? And Satan is an angel. This has a lot more implications than I am mentioning here. Paul is a learned man, yet he is intentionally ambiguous. It may seem obvious, but is it?

Acts 27:23 For there stood by me this night the angel of God, whose I am, and whom I serve…

Matthew 5:17-20 17"Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. 18For truly I tell you, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished. 19Therefore anyone who sets aside one of the least of these commands and teaches others accordingly will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven. 20For I tell you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the Pharisees and the teachers of the law, you will certainly not enter the kingdom of heaven.

  16. Yes..We are attacked from every side but those that believe in our Father will prevail. Spiritual Warfare! 💜🗡🛡🙏

The waves at this time are very noticeable— the enemy is getting organized … evil Oct 31st is approaching and then the wicked screwing around by the full moon…. Ruach has been talking so much about being quiet and focusing… anyway, I love your videos I haven’t started listening yet but… pfft I wish I saw this when it came out. Not just this though. The titles back to back sound totally relevant to what I’ve been dealing with.

Problem is (Ruach just told me/ made it very clear) SPIRIT OF DISTRACTION……… distraction. We’re choosing distraction so much that it stays around all the time especially at the wrong time. I’m sure it’s only me…..

You said physical things are spiritual. Yes they are……. ENDURANCE (you just said it!!!) YES!!!!!!!! and we can’t endure if we’re distracted. I miss your Videos so much. …. I’ve definitely been distracted 💔

It just never ends. The battle never ends…. Can you do a video on taking spiritual breaks?. Are there really no breaks? When do we get to just be creatures? I’m not great at temperance. I’m so all or nothing— a sprinter. Months of study in just a couple weeks then I let it settle in/ I process it subconsciously and practice using it. Then Yah opens the gates a little more and it’s time to level up again. But those level ups are so vivid and intense… entire paradigm shifts every level up. When it’s over I just chill….. maybe that’s my form of celebration and feasting… but I’d love to know your thoughts.
And I already know being with other believers is important, it’s just impossible where I live. Online is all we got

I rebuked the demons at the neighbors and they ended up moving within a few months too lol 😂

Nowwww you’re saying distractions…. Praise YAH 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰 I’m just glad that He’s got me listening to you guys.

For the record though it’s check only not check mate. It’ll NEVER be check mate . Never ♥️♥️♥️♥️ We’re saved. Never die. 🧸🎀

I’m definitely not in the habit of putting on the armor first…. I’ll stop rambling . Lol just so comforted by your videos

    Mhm!!!!! Complaining is a temptation!

Satan has another tactic too. He tells us we’re selfish if we choose to do less and choose our peace. It looks like we’re giving up on people if we decide not to stay in the flesh. Feels like we’re abandoning someone, even when the ruach tells us over and over…… and then we have to remember that Yah doesn’t need our help. Lol 😂 I said I was done rambling but it’s wonderful listening to you

Convo about cancer food and organics: when It was said not to ask if the meat was sacrificed to demons (in the Bible) I know it’s literal, but there’s dimensions of meaning and I believe it’s deeper than literal. I feel like it implies that a food will only hurt you if you believe it will. Yahushua also told us that it’s not what we put in our body (mouth) that defiles us but what comes out. And I think we are to be grateful for all things. I still stay away from pork the best I can but that’s out of love not fear. If you have an argument to this logic I would like to hear it. Maybe you’ll say it’s a Hebrew vs Gentile issue. I’m white yes. Very white. With Puerto Rican / Taino /African (slaves in Caribbean) dna. So….. anyway if you ever get time I’d be interested in your argument.

  18. I'm sorry to bother, but I have been trying to find the video's where you break down the bible, I can't seem to find them, is there a way you can link them down below this comment please and thank you
