  1. Johnny, thank you! I learned a ton making this with you. It's amazing how clear things can get when you talk them out with a friend. You and Iz have been so supportive since I went independent (and before!) and I can't wait to keep making things together. Maybe next time I’ll have you on my channel 🙂

  2. Hey Johnny, why dont you print Cleo's photos on paper and make a motion video at 24 page per second 🥱🥱

  3. You should make more videos about Chinas exploitations starting with what hey are and were doing in their territory.

  4. Yes!! You deplete Forrest and the land will never be the same. Why help Elon Musk on electric cars. You gona have charging station in the mountains, Forrest or Antarctica!! Lol I will never BUY one!! We are trying to save the World not destroy it More!!

  5. I get this video but bruh the fucking west played this cobalt game too, and another minerals. Learn to talk about all world powers greed

  6. You realize how foolish it is to blame China for workers’ conditions of local mine owners when it is up to the citizens of Congo to lobby their sovereignly elected leaders to pass domestic regulations. Hate China all you want while our Congress and inept Presidents of both parties fail to make strategic foreign infrastructure investments.

  7. This video meant so much to me to be put out there as I myself am a Congolese refugee. This clearly gave a bunch of visualization and clarification on the matter, and how, not only China works, but most of the dominant countries out there choose to expand and grow their GPD’s in a massive way, through manipulation undeveloped countries and cheating their way through the economics (this is so enraging) thx for the good context though, you def got skills when it come to bringing attention, moreover hooking your viewers.

  8. Hey yall 🙂 how yall doing? 💪💯🔥🔥 if anyone wants to do a collab I'm down to I'm not that good but I'm trying 😂 I appreciate yall reading this and hope you have a better day then before reading this much love y'all 💙💪💯🙏🔥💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙

  9. a few years ago I took part in MUN and my committee was talking about the DRC and China in all seriousness wanted to build a wall around the DRC 😂

  10. Yall making Black people pick cotton and asian as s3k slave. now yall mad because China give Africa job at least we pay them.nasa say america destroying the Earth by pumping fosel oil because rs didn't give america oil anymore hypocrite

  11. There is also the story associated with the development of alternative sources (i.e. mines in countries that have environmental and labour regulations)

  12. While all of these are mostly true, I feel like throwing the “China want to dominate the word” narrative on this topic is where this isn’t being genuine anymore

I’m from the Congo katanga exactly where all of these cobalt are being mined
For the most part of my life growing up there (past 20 year) the biggest companies extracting cobalt and other minerals were either American or European and our parents have worked for these company, matter of fact in that part of the country almost 80 percent of people go work for these companies

While it’s true that some of these companies are now chinese it doesn’t erase the fact that not even 7year ago all of them were not Chinese and the Congolese people were suffering the same way they are today

It has always been like that thought for us Congolese, the pattern has always been like this “the west come take what they want and when they done they leave it to the Chinese and start blaming Chinese”
America and Europe are not innocent either if not same as China when it come to taking ressources from Congo while Congolese people suffer in the process
Not even to mention how Apple is actually single-handedly inflicting pain to Congolese people because of the ressources it needs, yes the semi conductor manufacturer that provide Apple it’s semiconductor is Chinese but Apple is a U.S. company so as long as these big countries have their win win it doesn’t matter for us

This is not an American vs China thing this is Africa always coming last while big countries want to decide on which big power to blame it on

Your video is valid but throwing only China in this is the part that is not valid, China is not the only one.

  13. Unpopular opinion: I don’t like this corporate video format of a fake conversation to explain a narrative. This seems way too forced and polished for YouTube and then to have the little memes cut in to bring back some YouTube style edits does not flow well.
Love your edit style on previous videos and I can appreciate the time, editing, and such that went into this, but not feeling this one.
    Also, Nord vpn is garbage.

  14. @Johnny Harris, I totally lost the respect to you as a neutral and carefully select words to use youtuber. However, why do you @2:13 used the word "steal" & "control" without any substance to say China mining in Congo? While you later said the fact is that China "investing" in the mining of Congo. I don't know the cited video segments in your video are real or just borrowed from some other events make your a fake news spreader. Shame on you!

  15. Optimism/greener future = just ignoring the human abuse by China I suppose. Humans are suffering by allowing China to continue their course of action with zero consequences, but by ignoring it, as she suggests, isn't going to work with the human element. China's evil ways is both destroying the planet and hurting people for the benefit of their government.

  16. Yes, lets go back to guggling fossil fuel and reject EV. Additionally, lets blame china for anything. Yeah, what a nice future

  17. um so what we need to do is not buy electric cars, this does not seem, like a surprise. that is alot of people, have pointed out that car factories that make EVs pollute, just the same as factories that make gas cars. also people have also, pointed out, that, elon musk is not your friend. that is more workers are hurt, in his factories, than in fords factories. tesla and musk make a shit ton of money, selling electric cars. he isnt trying to save the future or go green. he is a business man, making money, as business men do. we need to stop, thinking, that future tech, will save the future.

  18. One thing is sure, if US or any of its allies do something, it can be revolution or otherwise its colonialism. China is there because they started investing there just like US has done is semiconductors and now they can take down a company like HUAWEI without even making parts that it uses through sheer power of convincing called bullying. This is money business and there are no ethics or humanism in it because current capitalistic systems allows you do this kind of shit cause you did it first so now you can control it.

  19. We don't need to improve the technology in Electric cars to have less impact to our environment.
We need to improve our public transportations and urban planning so we can lessen the resources that we are spending in traveling for our day to day life.
And the best is also changing our day to day lifestyle so we can use our resources more efficiently like where we don't need to use cars at all.

  20. I’m so happy reading the comments. I was afraid people would totally agree in the anti-China narrative, but happy to see the opposite and see people thinking holistically.

  21. So you expose the problem, then basically just accept the problem and say well we need the electric revolution to stop climate change, even though that means china wins and America as a power significantly declines and even though electric cars at best will slightly delay climate change , this is at best a video for liberals who are thinking but are too dumb to get away from making bad decisions, the green agenda is bad, fix it don't just jump off the bridge because there's nothing better

  22. I don't like China but i don't see anything wrong in what they're doing. If USA was doing the same nobody would've spoken about it😂. Infact US companies also have control of some mines in Africa. The largest oil spill in Africa was because of US. And Tesla themselves are buying from childworkers in Africa. So although immoral Africa is always know to have child labour not only because it's cheap but there's no regulation plus even an extra small amount of money for the family can earn them a meal to survive.
It's not like China came and stole all these lines if that was the case then they're wrong but that's not the case🤷🏻‍♂️

  23. I think world leader or leader in this field won't be stupid enough to trap themselves in by taking over all resources by China. This video is a bit entertaining but not really true though.

  24. Hey guys, I got the solution !!! … Have China mine a White Country !!! … We would NEVER allow that Envornment, or those People to suffer … Like Ukraine … TV shows whites suffering, here we go to the rescue!!! (BTW, Aghans, Iraquis, Syrians, Kurds, Pakistanis, Libyans, Central Americans, Rohingya, Tigrayans, Uyghurs, Bengalis do not qualify) …

  25. Johnny please make a video about the Lithium that would open more eyes.
