Despite appearing on maps for over a century, Sandy Island never actually existed.

My guess. It was a map makers trademark; back then to claim that they were the one who made the map the map maker would inject fake islands or such. What likely happened is a map maker made the fake island, a whaler saw it and claimed they saw it. and other map makers included it.
What is trully incredible is how much bot accounts with almost explicit pictures are copying comments in this specific short…
Have you seen Paper Towns? The concept was that map makers used to show fake locations on their maps so that they can catch the people who counterfeit their maps. I think that's how Sandy stayed.
It's called Lulucia
don't know about the island
but the perfect loop does exist here
You're doing shorts too now?! That's lowan, just low and disappointing. Sorry but I have to unsubscribe, I've lost respect for you.
Jonny, what are you selling today?
Johnny please make a video about Isla Bermeja! The Ghost island in the Gulf of Mexico!! Keep up the great work! Cheers
Hi johnny. Please noticed me
Can you do a video explaining the Texas/New Mexico border near El Paso? It seems to go right through people’s homes on google maps
"As for lulusia, That island never existed" RIP flame emperor
So that means Google map is manually created and not showed by satellite ?
PERFECT LOOP
I feel like I'm the only person who gets skeezed out by this guy. His videos are HUGELY deceptive if you look into the actual"facts" behind them, he doesn't wash his hair and now wtf does he have on top of his head??
Also, I haven't watched the video yet, but there was a coral reef in Japan that was listed as an island. Being remote and desolate, no one paid it much attention. Until recently that is, when they discovered it was no longer there. They think it sank back into the ocean due to climate change pressures as well as tectonic plate movement. So, if it's that island he's referring to, that's the story. Carry on…
these loops are getting out of hand
It's also an old cartographer's trick to keep competitors from copying original maps.
Why would Google maps say it’s there when their satellites clearly show that there isn’t? Google even went as far as to black out the area….?
I want someone to make this island and confuse the future generations forever
A lot of mapping companies make fake streets. Then if someone copies their maps they can call them out.
this is the island your father went to get the milk
Nautical 'maps' are called charts.
Excellent loop
This video is a never ending loop. Get me out!
People intentionally add fake artifacts to maps so that they can sue if another mapmaker produces a map with the same mistake in it. It shows that the map was clearly copied and so they can pursue legal action. That was a big thing a venture ago.
I ended up watching the short three times wondering where the end was
🌎👍❤
What if
Its not an island that they see back then but a of massive sea creature as big as an island
OH MY GOD YOU MADE IT LOOP THAT'S AMAZING
There's a case in Mexico known as the "Bermeja island", there's a bunch of theories including that the usa bombed it to dissapear it. A video about that case could be a good idea. 🍀
This sounds like a paper town – a fake town map makers create so they know if someone else stole their map
Never trust Google Maps
Yoo Johnny isles of bermeja how could it have been on a map for all these years
Jhonny Jhonny Jhonny… let me be clear… loops are for noobs. You are not a noob my man.
Well how does it appear on Google maps, when they're relying on satellite images? 😄
maybe it is global warming??
That loop tho!
Yay morbius strip short!
Sailor: Captain, we're sinking fast!
Captain: don't worry Sandy island is just nearby according to this map, we can swim ashore!
Follow the Science
The USSR also gave false information about its geography, for fear of invasion, until the age of satellites
But doesn't Google maps use satellite imaging too? How did they not catch the difference?
