  4. For Japan, the Ukraine crisis was unexpected. Japan's biggest problem was how to counter the Chinese threat. In recent years, Japan has frequently conducted joint military exercises with the United Kingdom, France, Germany, and other countries in the South China Sea and East China Sea in order to make European countries firmly aware of the Chinese threat. These efforts by Japan were gradually bearing fruit, but with Russia's invasion of Ukraine, the center of gravity of European countries' security once again shifted sharply toward how to counter the Russian threat. China signed a military agreement with the Solomon Islands in the Pacific as the Ukraine crisis was escalating. China will eventually build a military base in the Solomon Islands and send troops there. For China, the Ukraine crisis has become a perfect opportunity to camouflage its own ambitions.

  5. Kishida is sanctioned by Russia. He’s not making many Japanese happy for sure, myself included. He’s running like a little mouse more than necessary instead of trying to remain neutral as much as possible though we have to show good support to our old allies. He could have separated Russia and China issues as they’re two completely different countries but no, he’s ridiculous. He’s immature. He’s inexperienced. He’s unfit. We had good ties with Russia before when Abe was PM. He knew how to create a positive relationship with Russia especially that Kuril island. But no Kishida ruined Abe’s work. He’s too warmongering and he doesn’t represent majority of Japanese citizens wishes. I mean he’s not elected but took over after Abe resigned due to illness. Kishida is too poor in foreign relations and too pro-West.
