Greenland is massive. Denmark is not. Given its size, it’s strategic position and its distance from Denmark? How does Denmark own it and why didn’t anybody take it from them? If you want to find out watch this short and simple animated history documentary.

Trump wnted greenland
If it was claimed by any other country rather than Denmark, the UK most certainly would have annexed the Greenland. And the other super powers being discouraged from their temptation because the UK will always side with the Danish to provide protection against the bad boys.
Its not that big really. Its a result of the perspective way our maps are drawn.
smh, Britain missed out big time, Britain could have colonised it early and would have been in a good position to keep it.
Am I the only one who got a kick out of seeing the Village People here?
Denmark dosent own Greenland, Greenland is a part of the Kingdom of Denmark
Im from sweden
they got so lucky.
Because Trump wouldn't raise his offer
It hardly ‘owns’. Ita a nation within the Kingdom of Denmark. If you said that England owns Scotland the Scottish would have a heart attack. Greenland is the same.
Because russia hasn't claimed it going to denazify it and take it for itself.
So, what you're telling me is Norway could have owned Greenland…??
"…bc if you can buy Alaska, (and Louisiana, parts of Mexico, etc, etc) why not?" Ah, the history of (Imperial) America…
Greenland is nothing resources
I’m sure it has nothing to do with Greenland having large reserves of Resources such as Oil lying beneath its surfaces. Just sayin’.
History = “His-Story”
2:43 anyone else notice the little submarine?
Thé US was so nice to return it back to Denmark after WW II
US should've just annexed greenland after WWII. Denmark wouldn't and couldn't do jack shite about it
00:35. It gets worse. 😅😀
1:25 rally cracked me up, haha
I was actually thinking about this
Well it is not exactly an ownership but a part of the kingdom of Denmark with self autonomy. Owning something means you can do anything with you want with it. This is not how it works here. The people of Greenland has a say. There has been many ups and downs between the population of Greenland and Denmark throughout history, however, today it would appear today that the population of Greenland prefer to be in the kingdom of Denmark as opposed to elsewhere, including the US. Being a small area population wise with vast resources it i very difficult to be independent without large pr powers abusing you. Under organized Denmark and of course the umbrella of NATO Greenland lies well with Denmark currently as China has tried to enter and influence the Arctic while particularity Russia, but also the US and Canada have large arctic coast lines.
Why does your channel always glitch and pause and stutter. Why won’t it stream smoothly ever?

Why can't Canada have it? We're really close and we would be nice to them.
The West ≃ The Village People.
Lol I love it how when the portuguese got there they were like: Nahh it's too cold man I'm out.
Denmark doesn't own greenland
It is Norway which controls Greenland not Denmark.
It gets worse.
